More than 50 paddlers took to the glassy conditions of the Clarence River, on Sunday 7th August, for the rescheduled Canoe Marathon hosted by Big River Canoe Club.
It was great to see paddlers from the usual clubs, as well as local surf clubs and Big River Canoe Club itself.
Line honours for the 15km course were taken by Stuart Thompson and Andrew Gordon in the K2 in a time of 1:05:51. The fastest single was Gavin Cook in an unrestricted craft in a time of 1:10:31.
Line honours for the 7.5km course were taken by Steve Muir and Lochlan Sutherland in the K2 in a time of 40:10. The fastest single was Rob Fahey in a surfski in a time of 41:25.
Thanks again for those who made the effort to support the rescheduled event and Big River Canoe Club as we re-establish ourselves.
